Church Building Update: Stained Glass Window Repairs
The long-awaited repair work on our church windows is moving ahead!
As you may have noticed, scaffolding has been installed both on the exterior of the church's eastern wall and inside the Choir Loft. This marks the initial preparation phase for the essential maintenance and repair of our beautiful stained-glass windows.
- Current Status: Scaffolding is in place.
- Next Steps: Details regarding the exact start date of the intensive repair work and any potential temporary impact on daily services or Mass times will be shared here in the coming months.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to the completion of this vital restoration project.

Step Up, Serve Others:
Ministry Commitment for 2026
The life of our parish depends on the generous stewardship of your time and talent. As we look ahead to 2026, we are once again asking every parishioner to prayerfully consider how God is calling them to serve our community.
Over the next few weeks, we invite you to commit to ministry by either:
- Reaffirming your current commitment to your existing ministry.
- Exploring a new ministry that sparks your passion.
- Doing both!
What is your call for 2026?
Whether it's reading Scripture, hospitality, visiting the sick, or helping with the website, your involvement makes a tangible difference.
Next Steps & Details:
Full information regarding available ministries and the sign-up process is published in the current bulletin and is also available here.

Remembering Our Faithful Departed:
The Book of Remembrance
November is a sacred time in our Church year, dedicated to prayerful remembrance and intercession for all those who have died. We invite you to join our parish community in this beautiful tradition as we commit to praying for your departed loved ones throughout the entire month.
How We Remember at the Catholic Parish of St Mary of the Presentation Mudgee:
- The Book of Remembrance: We are preparing our special Book of Remembrance, which will contain the names of all those for whom you request our prayers. This book will be solemnly presented during the Offertory Procession and placed on the altar at every Mass in November. This ensures that the intentions for your family and friends are offered to God daily alongside the Sacrifice of the Mass.
- Submit Your Names: To have your loved ones enrolled in the Book of Remembrance, please pick up a November Mass Envelope at the back of any of our Churches or stop by the Parish Office during business hours.
Please note: Due to the great number of intentions we receive, we are not able to publish every name in our weekly bulletin. However, every name submitted will be included in the Book of Remembrance and lifted up in prayer.
We also continue to pray for our sick and those whose immediate anniversaries fall during this time in our weekly bulletin prayers.
During this coming Advent season, Bishop Michael has requested that each parish across the diocese hold a Penitential Service. This Penitential Service will initiate a new journey of renewal, Rebuild My Church, a diocesan-wide process leading to a Parish Assembly in 2026. Walking together in faith and mission, the initiative invites every parishioner to take part in renewing the life of the Church through participation, communion, and mission.
As we commence this significant journey, parishioners are warmly invited to attend our Advent Penitential Service to be held at:
St John The Baptist, Gulgong
Tuesday, 16th December at 6:00 pm
St Dominic's, Kandos
Thursday, 18th December at 6:00 pm
St Mary of the Presentation, Mudgee
Monday, 22nd December at 6:00 pm
St Matthew’s Church Botobolar
Distribution of items to descendants of donors
The recent sale of St Matthew’s Church Botobolar was for the church only. None of the items in the church formed part of the sale.
There are many items in the church that I would like to return to the descendants of the donors of those items.
To facilitate the return of these items, I plan to open the church and enable present and former Botobolar residents who worshipped in St Matthews to collect any items that your descendants donated to the church.
I invite you to meet at St Matthews on:
Wednesday 3 December
10am – 2pm
Please communicate this information to any family or friends that you are aware of that may wish to be present at this meeting.
If it is not possible to be at the meeting in person, you may wish to nominate a local resident to act on your behalf to collect the item that you descendants donated.
