Pastoral Council

What is the purpose of St. Mary’s Parish Pastoral Council?

• Acts as a consultative body for the Parish Priest in the conduct of the pastoral business of the Parish.

• Discerns the needs of the parish and the wider community through on-going prayer, consultation and communication.

• Some of the Parish Pastoral Council’s endeavours will be:

‣Fostering a sense of community within the Parish

‣Identifying pastoral needs

‣Supporting Faith development

•Members of the Parish Pastoral Council are:

‣Ex-officio members – Clergy, School Principal, Religious Education Coordinator, Parish Secretary & religious actively engaged in the Parish.

‣Elected members (over the age of 16 years) – maximum number 8.
